Dunholme Camera Club are camera club photographers based in Dunholme Lincoln, Lincolnshire, with a relaxed friendly approach specialising in stylish modern camera club photography at Dunholme Camera Club locations and venues. We meet fortnightly at The Old School Market Rasen Road Dunholme Lincoln LN2 3QR.

The camera club was founded by the now lifetime President Grahame Dunkin, it all started back in 1994 when Grahame's brother Stuart was killed tragically whilst doing what he loved the most taking photographs. Stuart was the eldest brother of 3 and was the owner of "Stuart Dunkin Photography" based in Bedlington Northumberland. After Stuarts death Grahame and his wife took over Stuarts photography business and controlled the business for 12 months but controlling a business from Dunholme near Lincoln some 173 miles away was very difficult and so with deep regret they decided to close the business and concentrated on building a small photographic business of their own from home near Lincoln.

During the next 12 months Grahame read all the books he could on the subject of photography learning the skills required to run a small photographic business. In 1996 Grahame was discussing with his wife Dianne the amount of knowledge that he had accumulated during the last 2 years and so Grahame decided that he should share that knowledge with members of the community. It was decided to hold a meeting at a local venue. After making a few calls Grahame decided that a good venue for a small camera club would be The Old School at Dunholme near Lincoln where he lived. A write up was placed in the local parish magazine that there would be a meeting in The Old School Hall to establish if there was enough interest in the community to start a local camera club. The first meeting of the Dunholme Camera Club was attended by about 20 people by the end of the evening 10 of those people at the meeting decided to start The Dunholme Camera Club.

It was a big step for Grahame as his main employment was at that time in the motor industry so photography was far removed from selling cars and vans. The Dunholme Camera Club went from strength to strength over the next few years with more members joining. over the years we have increased our membership and generally hover in the region of 30-40 members, enough to keep the friendly atmosphere that we all like.

Grahame has his own photographic businesses Lincs Photo Training and PhotoHolidays UK, he specialises in training photographers to enhance their knowledge in photography and organises photo holidays in Scotland, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire but still supports the camera club in any way he can. We are currently getting new members joining the club and everyone enjoys the friendly atmosphere linked together with what we all have in common, our love of photography.
